Volunteers are an integral part of the Lytton Gardens community. They bring an infusion of energy, stimulating conversations, and caring visits to our seniors. Since we opened our doors in the mid-1970s, dedicated volunteers have continually given of themselves to cultivate an environment of independence and personal fulfillment for our residents.
The benefits of volunteer's efforts to Lytton Gardens residents are far beyond measure. But scores of volunteers from all walks of life report deep rewards from their involvement, as well. As new relationships form and strengthen, volunteers often get back as much or more than they give through joy, spirit, and personal satisfaction.
The Caring Connections program offers a broad variety of volunteer opportunties. Whether you're interested in making a long-term commitment or just want to contribute periodically, we will help you find a way to make a difference at Lytton Gardens. Experience the satisfaction of touching a life.
Summer CARE PACKS for Ecumenical Hunger Program
On July the 11th, with the help of Language of the Pacific Volunteer Group and the 4th floor Webster Health Center residents, care packs were assembled which included: different kinds of first care toiletries, soap (liquid and bars), shampoo, deodorant, first aid kit, tissues, wipes, lip balm, toothbrushes, toothpaste, body lotion, razors, socks, and a light snack.
It's back to school time and this year our volunteer department coordinated a heroic effort by stuffing 80 backpacks with school supplies for Belle Haven School. There were 30 kindergarden backpacks and 50 for upper grades.
This project was made possible with the generosity of San Mateo Credit Union, Rotary Club of Menlo Park, Webster House residents, Costco, Target, Safeway, and Lytton staff, residents, and volunteers.
