Dr. Pompei has been Medical Director for Lytton Gardens since 1996. A distinguished doctor and educator, Dr. Pompei is currently Associate Professor of Medicine at the Stanford University School of Medicine. He also serves at the Geriatric Research, Education and Clinic Center of the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, and holds multiple offices within the Stanford University medical system, with emphasis on geriatric care and internal medicine. Previously he held managerial and directorial positions with the University of Chicago Department of Medicine, both as a medical practitioner and as an educator. Dr. Pompei holds an M.D. degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, and was a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1983, and of Geriatric Medicine in 1988 and 1998. In 2000, he received the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching at the Stanford University School of Medicine.
